QUESTION: We have a dully pickup. We are using it to transport RVs from the factories in Indiana to Florida.

We were stopped by Indiana DOT and told we needed USDOT numbers.  We had applied for the numbers and received them last year but were later told we did not need them so they were canceled.

Can you tell me what I need, the insurance requirements, and how to go about getting everything?

ANSWER: If your truck and trailer combined DOES NOT weigh 10,001 or more pounds, then you do not need anything.

If your truck and trailor combined DOES weigh 10,001 or more pounds, then you need a USDOT# and an MC#.

The insurance requirements are:
-BIPD of at least $750,000.00
-Cargo: $5,000.00 per vehicle and $10,000.00 per occurrence.

I can help you get the USDOT# and MC#.
